In the greater Newark region, the Mentoring Coalition consists of over 20 organizations who have committed to increasing both awareness of mentoring and the number of mentors for children in Newark. The group's goal: To raise awareness to organizations and individuals of the need for their participation in mentoring for the Newark community.

The partners are working on coordinating services, identifying and filling gaps and developing best practices that will help improve both the quality of mentoring programs and the number of individuals who participate.
